Armin's Photo of the Moment Archive
Pictures that have graced the front page as Armin's Photo of the Moment. The pictures here are displayed in reverse chronological order, so the most recent image is at the top left.
All pictures used to be taken with my Canon Powershot S400 Digital Elph, which is a 4 megapixel camera with a 3x zoom. The original pictures are in large, fine JPG mode, which is a resolution of 2272x1704 with the least possible compression. I then resize and/or crop the chosen picture for use as the Photo of the Moment. (In the case of the Pals series, I ran the photo through a Charcoal filter before finalizing it for use on the site.) I now own a Panasonic DMC-FZ50 Lumix super-zoom camera, which is kind of like an SLR, but has a fixed lens with a 12x zoom. These pictures are generally also in a large, fine JPG mode, which is a resolution of 3648x2736 with the least compression. I can use RAW mode, but haven't done so yet, since I like the rapid-shot feature which doesn't work in RAW mode. I also now have a cell phone with a camera, so some of the crappy pictures I shoot with that will likely appear here as well.
Note that due to changes in the layout of the site, I now use the thumbnail sized photos (as shown here) on the front page. As a result, I decided to increase the size of the regular images to 640x480. This change became effective with Photo 29. All previous pictures are still in the smaller 320x240 size.
